BUDDY GUY’S LEGENDS’ 20TH YEAR KICKS OFF WITH ANNUAL RESIDENCY:
Fans Making Travel Plans from all Over World to Catch the Legend at Home
WHAT:
Buddy Guy will be hitting his Legends stage 16 times this January,
marking the beginning of his internationally-renowned club’s 20th year.
Starting Thursday, January 8th, Mr. Guy will be playing four
shows a week until Saturday, January 31st.
People from all over the world flock to Chicago during one of the
coldest times of the year to catch Mr. Guy play in his intimate,
400-person venue. Even with
this uncertain global economy, the Legends staff has received emails
from such faraway countries as France, Australia and Scotland, asking
when tickets go on sale so they can make their travel plans.
Tickets will go on sale Saturday, November 29th through
Ticketmaster.
WHO:
Five-time Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Buddy
Guy has had a banner year.
He made a show-stopping appearance in Martin Scorsese’s Rolling Stones
concert film,
Shine a Light; he graced
the cover of
Rolling Stone magazine
for the first time for their “100 Greatest Guitar Songs” issue; he
received the first annual Great Performer of Illinois award at a tribute
concert in Millennium Park; and he released a new CD,
Skin Deep, which has been
his most successful album to date. It has just been nominated for a
Grammy.
Because Mr. Guy has been on tour for a vast majority of the year, the
“Buddy Shows” will be the first time many people will be hearing his new
songs live in Chicago. He
won’t be slowing down after his residency for the rest of the winter,
since he’ll be going on tour with
B.B. King in early February!
