May 26: Delmark Records' Jimmy Dawkins Tribute w/ Rockin' Johnny, Billy Flynn & Bobby Radcliff at B.L.U.E.S., Chicago
A highly significant West Side guitarist, who made his debut on Delmark thanks to pal Magic Sam, Jimmy Dawkins served as a mentor and influence to many, including Billy Flynn and Rockin' Johnny. A rare appearance by East Coast guitarist Bobby Radcliff, who adapted the West Side sound after spending time with Magic Sam in Chicago, promises to make this tribute extra special. Radcliff has played with Roomful of Blues, the original Blues Brothers, Bob Margolin, Mark Hummel and Dawkins, in addition to his solo career.
