SEPTEMBER

Sept. 14: Buddy Guy Fifth Star Award Ceremony w/ tribute by Guy King & more at Jay Pritzker Pavilion at Milennium Park, 7 p.m. FREE! photo: Dianne Bruce Dunklau The Fifth Star is a reference to Chicago’s flag, which has four stars. The other honorees are: photographer Victor Skrebneski, theater founder Jackie Taylor, museum founder Carlos Tortolero and The Second City, improv/comedy/sketch theater. The awards will be presented by Shemekia Copeland, Cindy Crawford, Chester Gregory and Fred Willard. There will be performances to honor the winners by blues artist Guy King, The Black Ensemble Theater, Sones de Mexico Ensemble and The Second City.
